Africa and Decor Coffee Table Book

2024 – Present

Our coffee table book is a curated journey through modern African interiors, where texture, heritage, and contemporary design meet effortlessly.

This is an ode to the African home, reimagined, refined, and deeply rooted.

We recently sat down with Penninah of Afro BOUTIK Home and Lifestyle, she is our guru when it comes to African Interior Design and Styling here in Kenya. She draws inspiration from the entire continent but mostly West and Central Africa through the types of textiles that she selects for her own home and lifestyle brand.

What’s New?

A New Chapter for NASO AT HOME

This year marks an exciting new chapter for NASO AT HOME as we open the doors to our very first dedicated space at New Muthaiga Shopping Mall.

What began as a home-based business has grown into a brand centred around thoughtful home fragrances, beautiful objects and considered spaces. Our new space allows us to take that vision further, bringing product formulation, retail and distribution together under one roof.

Small in size but big in character, our first space is designed to feel intimate, unique and welcoming. It is a place where you can discover our collections, experience our fragrances and see the world of NASO AT HOME come to life.

This is more than a new location. It represents our growth, our evolution and our commitment to creating beautiful things for the spaces we call home.

Welcome to the next chapter of NASO AT HOME.

The Inspiration Edit

Our saved digital collection is a living archive of everything inspiring NASO AT HOME right now from interiors, architecture and objects to colour palettes, textures, materials, art, fashion and the little details that make a space feel special.

It is where we collect ideas, discover new perspectives and dream up what could be next.

Some references become products, some influence how we style and design spaces, and others simply remind us to keep looking, experimenting and creating.

Consider it a window into our world, our curiosity and the ideas currently shaping NASO AT HOME.

A Decade, or Longer?

A decade in the making. Some conversations have a little more history behind them.

We recently sat down with London-based artist Sebastian May of University of Arts, London, for an interview, a creative conversation that takes us back over a decade, to when we first met as Consultants in 2012.

From professional beginnings to creative journeys, so much can change… and yet some connections remain.

Here’s a little glimpse behind the scenes.

The full conversation coming soon.

Asante Sana!

Mural by Njuguna Arts

Njuguna Arts is a contemporary Kenyan artist based in Limuru/Tigoni whose work is inspired by the beauty, diversity, and rhythms of the natural world. Working across murals, paintings, and mixed-media pieces, he is known for his vibrant use of colour and his ability to transform spaces through art that celebrates local landscapes and botanical life.

We came across his work when we were invited by the Limuru Highlands Trust Community to join their tea and farmers market in 2024. Our relationship with Njuguna began through NASO AT HOME’s collaboration with Friends of Creation in 2025, where we had the opportunity to experience firsthand his creativity, professionalism, and passion for community-centred art. Since then, we have been delighted to continue working together.

‘The Flower Guy’

Meet The Flower Guy, a Nairobi-based floral artist known for transforming ordinary spaces into living works of art. With an eye for scale, texture, and natural beauty, he creates floral installations that go far beyond the traditional bouquet, bringing drama, elegance, and storytelling into every arrangement.

The project reflects NASO AT HOME’s love for craftsmanship, creativity, and beautiful spaces, while showcasing The Flower Guy’s ability to blur the lines between floristry, design, and artistic expression. Together, we are creating something bold, unexpected, and unforgettable for the studio, a celebration of flowers, imagination, and the beauty of making a statement.

Good Design

Something about vision, perspectives, tastes and points of view.

“Good design” in home and interiors goes far beyond what looks beautiful. It’s about how a space feels, functions, and flows and how intentionally every element has been chosen.

1 – Function First
2 – Cohesion and Harmony
3 – Material Integrity
4 – Emotional Impact
5 – Intentional Simplicity

In essence, good design is intentional living made visible.

April 2026

We were excited to host artist Muthoni Mwangi for her signature ‘Vibes & Inshallah’ Art Workshop, a space where creativity flowed freely, just pure expression.

Whether you were a seasoned creative or simply looking to unwind, this workshop was all about tapping into your intuition, enjoying the process, and creating from a place of ease.

The concept was fresh, authentic, and unique, and this team led by Muthoni proved to be the visionaries we had been looking for.

We gathered over the weekend, building cities in boxes at our new studio location in New Muthaiga Shopping Mall, Thigiri Ridge Road, Nairobi.

The Africa Candle

2024

Some of our most meaningful creations begin with a journey.

The Africa Candle was born from one of founder Yasmine’s travels to Mombasa in June 2024, where she discovered the extraordinary craftsmanship of the artisans at the Akamba Handicraft Centre. Known for generations of intricate wood carving, the centre is a place where raw pieces of wood are transformed by hand into detailed works of art.

Yasmine spent time watching the artisans at work, fascinated by the patience, precision and skill behind every carving. She spoke with the craftsmen, learned more about their techniques and was given a tour of their workshop, seeing first-hand the process of turning an idea into something tangible.

That experience stayed with her.

Inspired by the beauty of African craftsmanship and the shape of the continent itself, Yasmine returned to Nairobi with an idea: to create a candle that celebrated Africa not simply as a place, but as a source of inspiration, creativity and connection.

And so, the Africa Candle was created in Nairobi.

Designed as a statement piece, it brought together NASO AT HOME’s love of fragrance and interiors with the influence of traditional African craftsmanship. It was a reminder that inspiration can travel, from a workshop in Mombasa to a creative studio in Nairobi, and ultimately into someone’s home.

The Africa Candle made its debut during NASO AT HOME’s “Homecoming” Pop-Up Series, where it was offered as a special one-of-a-kind piece and auctioned for KSh 5,000.

For NASO AT HOME, its value was about more than the final auction price. The candle represented a journey, a meeting with artisans, and the way travel can open our eyes to the beauty that already exists around us.

From Mombasa to Nairobi. From craftsmanship to fragrance. From inspiration to home.

The Africa Candle is a small piece of that story and a reminder that home can carry the stories of everywhere we have been.

Fragrance Mixology

Yasmine of NASO AT HOME approaches fragrance the way an artist approaches a blank canvas, intuitively, emotionally, and with deep intention. As a fragrance mixologist, she doesn’t just blend scents; she curates experiences that feel like home, memory, and mood all at once.

Her style is rooted in storytelling and slow living. Each blend reflects a moment, early mornings in sunlit gardens, the calm of tea fields in Tigoni, or the grounding stillness of earth after rain. She leans into natural, layered notes, think fresh green tea, cooling mint, warm amber, soft florals, and subtle woody undertones, creating fragrances that evolve gently on the skin and in the space.

What sets her apart is her sensitivity to atmosphere and emotion. She understands that scent is deeply personal, so her mixes are designed to:

  • soothe and centre (for rest and restoration),
  • uplift and energise (for creative flow),
  • or cocoon and comfort (for intimate, quiet moments at home).

There’s also a strong wellness philosophy behind her craft. Using conscious materials like eco-friendly oils and resins, her fragrances align with NASO AT HOME’s ethos—beauty that is both indulgent and responsible.

As a mixologist, Yasmine is less about overpowering signature scents and more about subtle luxury—fragrances that whisper rather than shout, that linger softly, and that become part of your personal ritual.

In essence, she is not just blending scents—she is designing how home feels.

NASO AT HOME
It’s not just about how your space looks — it’s about how it feels.
